Under glatte forhold kreves presis kontroll av både clutch og gass for å få maksimalt grep ut av sykkelen. Launch Control Mode hjelper føreren til en bedre start ved å støtte opp om god teknikk med elektronisk motorstyring. Systemet ble for første gang tilgjengelig på en serieprodusert motocrossmodell med Kawasaki KX450F, og aktiverer et eget motorprogram som gir en mer effektiv start fra linja. Løsningen er utviklet etter samme spesifikasjoner som det våre fabrikkførere bruker i AMA Supercross- og Motocross-mesterskapene. Launch Control Mode aktiveres enkelt ved å trykke på en knapp på styret. Når systemet er aktivert, justeres tenningstidspunktet slik at motorens sterke dreiemoment blir mer kontrollerbart, og hjulspinn reduseres ved start. Launch Control Mode er kun aktiv i de to første girene fra start, og slår seg automatisk av og tilbake til standard motorprogram når føreren girer opp til tredje gir. Systemet gir føreren en klar fordel ved startgrinden og setter dem i en bedre posisjon for å vinne.
