5 MINUTTER MED

Møt de grønne heltene som aldri takkes nok for deres innsats bak racing scenene.

AKIRA YANAGAWA

Akira Yanagawa was one of Kawasaki’s best known stars of the 1990’s and amazingly he’s still racing! The 44 year old from Kagoshima isn’t just ‘making up the numbers’ either, so far this season he’s finished on the podium at the JSB (All Japan Road Race Championship) and will be partnering Leon Haslam on the factory backed Ninja ZX-10R at the legendary Suzuka Eight Hour.

ANDREW PITT

Double World Supersport Champion Andrew Pitt will need no introduction to Kawasaki fans, having won his first title on a ZX-6R in 2001 before going on to race the MotoGP ZX-RR machine in 2003. Now working with the Pucetti Racing squad in World Supersport, we caught up with the Aussie legend to discuss all things green…

LEON HASLAM

At the end of 2015, after having won the final World Superbike Championship race of the season, Leon Haslam (son of the legendary Rocket Ron) announced he would be returning to the UK to join the factory supported JG Speedfit Kawasaki team. Alongside his BSB duties, Leon will also be returning to Suzuka for the 8hr race under the Kawasaki banner…

GRAEME BROWN

BRYAN SMITH

Having been competing for over 14 years, American flat track racer Bryan Smith is a perennial front runner in the AMA Pro Racing GNC1 class. Using Kawasaki power, 2015 saw Bryan enter the X Games for the first time…taking a gold medal in the process!

BENJAMIN COBB

Benjamin Cobb arrived in the Communication and Brand PR role for WorldSBK promoters Dorna this season at an important point in the development of the biggest production-derived championship on the planet. We found out more about the man and his role, which in 2016 features separate but closely related duties.

HORST SAIGER

A Kawasaki rider through and through, Horst Saiger has quickly made a name for himself on the International Road Racing scene, while also racing in the FIM World Endurance Championship – securing a podium finish at the gruelling 24hr of Le Mans in 2015.

FRANÇOIS LEMARIEY

CHRIS WALKER

Arguably one of the most popular riders in Britain, Chris ‘Stalker’ Walker has been a Kawasaki rider through most of his career. Most famous for that incredible victory in Assen, where he came from the back of the grid, Chris is still showing the young guns in British Superbikes how it’s done…

OLIVIER JACQUES

Having been known as a ‘quarter litre’ star for most of his young career, Olivier Jacques shocked the racing world when he stepped in for a one off ride on the ferocious Kawasaki ZX-RR to so nearly take victory at tricky rain hit Chinese GP…

JAMES HILLIER

Kawasaki through and through, Road Racing star James Hillier has been with the brand for over five years and even helped launch the latest model Ninaj ZX-6R. With three podiums at the 2015 Isle of Man TT, James also gave the thousands of fans packing the banking a treat when he took the incredible Kawasaki Ninja H2R around the Island course.

LIVIA LANCELOT

Having won the inaugural Women’s World Motocross Championship in 2008, French rider Livia Lancelot went on to compete in the incredibly tough Le Touquet sand race as well as the X Games in America. Back in MX however, she has set up her own team, Team One One Four, from which she races her Kawasaki KX250F – narrowly missing out on the World title in 2015…

TERRY RYMER

The world of Endurance is a unique way to go racing, a million miles away from Grand Prix and Superbikes. Yet Kawasaki star Terry Rymer was one of the few riders who was able to conquer both disciplines.
